Our next social care project under Blooming Buds: For needy girls in an orphanage at Rakwana on 2023.12.31

Introduction to the Children’ Home:

Shanti Children’ Home is located in Rakwana one of a remote area in Rathnapura District, of Sabaragamuwa Province in Sri Lanka. The orphanage consists of 15 girls who’s in between the age range of 06 to 16 along with 03 teachers who looks after the children.

Our Selection:

Our effort was to arrange school uniforms, undergarments, sanitary materials, shoes and their other shortages with the consultation of their teachers. Before organizing the event, few members of the organizing committee of Hailey Foundation paid a visit to the home. We heard their stories and noticed their gloomy faces understanding how those innocent children had missed their families, friends, and parents heartbrokenly. And then we knew the best way to end the year 2023 was to be with them and make them smile with our presence and gifts.

The happy news:

Our donors who have been always together with us from many cities in Sri Lanka as well as the Sri Lankans who resides abroad joined us for this great cause. It’s our pleasure to announce that they have supported us numerous ways including monitory and non-monitory to fulfill the needs of those innocent children and bring a smile to their faces.

PROJECT 03

Our next social care project under Blooming Buds: For needy school children at Ullinduwawa on 2023.05.14

Introduction to the School

The school is located in Ullinduwawa one of a rural area in Rathnapura District, of Sabaragamuwa Province in Sri Lanka which is under the educational zone of Embilipitiya Kolonna education division. The school conducts classes for children in grade 1 to 11 which has 184 total school children including 85 male students and 99 female students.

Our Selection:

Our effort was to select 40 low-income children in need of the school which were chosen under the guidance of Mr. Harsha Deshapriya, the Principal of Kolonna Ullinduwawa School. This time our Blooming Buds social care project was focused to provide the essential school equipment to the children who are poorest and unable to fulfill their needs.

The happy news:

Donors from many cities in Sri Lanka as well as foreign countries joined us for this act. It’s our pleasure to announce that they have supported us numerous ways including monitory and non-monitory to fulfill the needs of those innocent children and bring a smile to their faces.

Their happy tears:

One of a mother who participated for the event expressed her gratitude saying that they are very thankful for helping the education of those little children at a time like this specially when even education is being hampered due to economic difficulties. Further she mentioned that those who treat every child the same are the kings of today’s society. Our expectation was to see those happy tears of them. Our well wishes and anticipation is to witness that these little children will complete their education properly and become a responsible and kind hearted people who will be successful one day.

PROJECT 02

Our next social care project under Blooming Buds: For Infants & Babies to be born at Athgala on 2023.02.04

Introduction to the Project:

Our effort was to help few pregnant mothers who were closer to their delivery date nevertheless were unable to fulfill the essentials required for the child birth and after in Athgala village, Panamura town in Embilipitiya in Sabaragamuwa Province.

Our Selection:

Under the guidance of Mrs. Hema, a family health worker in Panamura Athgala area, Embilipitiya, the low-income needy families were selected and arranged to provide them with lists of items needed for hospitalization for childbirth. Before organizing the event, few members of the organizing committee of Hailey Foundation paid a visit to their homes. We heard their stories which were heartbroken and this is their background:

The husband’s leg, arm and leg were injured due to the collapse of a wall at the work site and they have lost their family income which had made them encounter a helpless condition to purchase the essentials for baby to be born.

The husband has lost both his legs due to a vehicle accident and they have lost their family income which had made them encounter a helpless condition to purchase the essentials for the infant.

There is no source of income as the husband is highly addicted which had made the mother suffered with the unborn baby in her womb which had made her encounter a helpless condition to purchase the essentials for the baby to be born.

Due to pesticide poisoning, husband was infected and sick and had to stop farming, which made the family losing their income that had made them encounter a helpless condition to purchase the essentials for the baby to be born.

‘‘Thank you very much to these people of the Hayley Foundation who came to our aid after learning about us from our midwife Miss, when we were not sure what to do…!’’

‘‘When we were about to have our second baby, my husband had an accident and we lived in a lot of hardships. Thank you very much to everyone for providing the hospital needs and the baby needs. Wishing you help others more like this…!’’
